About the Wolf Spider:
The Wolf spider (Pardosa amentatacan) is a medium sized spider found in a wide range of habitats including grassland, woodland and gardens. It hunts by stalking its unsuspecting prey through the undergrowth and leaping on it like a wolf.
Female Wolf spiders carry their egg-sacs around underneath their bodies, attached to the organs that produce silk, called ‘spinnerets’. Once they hatch the young will be carried around for a few days before dispersing using threads of silk to drift away on the wind.
