About the Rusty-Cheeked Scimitar-Babbler:
The Rusty-Cheeked Scimitar-Babbler (Megapomatorhinus erythrogenys) is a large brown babbler in the family Timaliidae found in open forests in hilly and montane regions of India and parts of southeast Asia.
They have brown wings and tails and a white throat with rusty orange colouring on the sides of the face, head, thighs, and flanks. The beak is long and curved in a scimitar shape. elevations up to 2600 m.
They are typically found in subtropical and tropical forests and jungles up to elevations of 2600m, where they feed mostly on the forest floor and in low canopies in small groups. Their diet primarily includes include insects, grubs and seeds.
