Padley Gorge Millstone
Autumn colours and fog at the famous millstone at Padley Gorge in the Peak District National Park.
Padley Gorge is a deep wooded gorge surrounded by open heather moorland in the Peak District National park. The Burbage Brook runs through the gorge cascading over rocky gritstone boulders to the Derwent Valley below. The stream originally signified the Yorkshire/Derbyshire boundary but the boundary has now been relocated to follow the A625, Hathersage Road.
