Neist Point Lighthouse

One of the top locations on my to do list was Neist Point Lighthouse. This is one of the most iconic and striking views on the whole island and it’s easy to see why! Here jagged cliffs tower over turquoise water and the lighthouse catches the light beautifully at sunset. The top of the cliff is littered with interesting rocks so I was literally spoilt for choice on compositions. In the end I was lucky enough to get some soft golden light and great cloud cover.

Neist Point Lighthouse

Offering stunning views over Moonen Bay and out to the Western Isles, Neist Point Lighthouse is the most westerly point on the Isle of Skye. Built in 1900 the lighthouse was originally manned by a live-in lighthouse keeper. In recent times an automated lighting system has been integrated and no longer requires daily maintenance. The site is now one of the most famous and popular tourist location on the Isle of Skye and it’s easy to see why.
