Little Owl Portrait – Peak District Wildlife Photography
Little owl perched on a dry stone wall at dusk in the Derbyshire Peak District. Using my car as a hide I was able to get extremely close to this little owl, who didn’t seem to even notice my presence, except to occasionally turn to look at me with its big yellow eyes.
About Little Owls:
Little Owls were first introduced to the UK in the early 19th century. Of all the owls found in the UK the little owl is the most crepuscular and can often be seen perched in broad daylight. When alarmed they will rapidly bob their heads up and down and rapidly take flight with their long rounded wings.
