About the Lesser yellownape:

The lesser yellownape (Picus chlorolophus) is a woodpecker in the Picidae family. They are widespread in tropical and sub-tropical Asia, primarily the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. Their range extends from India, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka eastwards to Thailand, Burma, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam. 

They are typically found in jungle habitats where they nest in a tree holes; laying two to four white eggs. Lesser yellownapes are sexually dimorphic. Adult males have a green head with a white throat and red markings above the eye and on the neck. Females have only a red patch above the ear coverts.
