Ladybower Plughole and Last Light on Bamford Edge

Last light shining on Bamford Edge, taken from an overflowing Ladybower plughole in the Peak District National Park.

Ladybower Reservoir is the lowest of three reservoirs in the Upper Derwent Valley in the Derbyshire Peak District. The ‘plugholes’, as they are known locally are two enclosed bellmouth overflows that route water through the dam down to the river Derwent.
