Kittiwake with nesting materials
Kittiwake collecting nesting materials from the tops of the cliffs. These stunning birds are often overlooked in favour of the crowd pleasers, but for me their bright white plumage and red rimmed eyes make them just as interesting!
These impressive chalk cliffs on the Yorkshire coast are home to 250,000 birds, making it the best place to see sea birds in the whole of England!
About Kittiwakes
The kittiwake is a member of the gull family and a summer visitor to our shores. After breeding season is over these gentle looking birds head out to sea to spend the entire winter out on the open Atlantic ocean!
