Higger Tor View at Dawn

Higger Tor view down toward the Iron Age ill fort of Carl Wark.  The sky hadn’t looked particularly promising, with a thick bank of low cloud blocking the horizon. Just before dawn though the clouds lit up with these beautiful pinks and reds. A stunning morning! Higger Tor, Peak District National Park.

About Higger Tor:

Higger Tor, also known as Higgar Tor, is a gritstone outcrop in the Dark Peak area of the Peak District National Park. The summit provides panoramic views over the national park, the most famous of which looks down towards the iron age hill fort of Carl Wark.
