About the Harlequin Ladybird:
The Harlequin ladybird (Harmonia axyridis) is one of the most successful invasive insect species in the world. Since their introduction to Britain in 2004 they have decimated our native ladybird population, due to their much larger size and voracious hunger, out competing the two-spot ladybirds for food and eating their eggs and larvae.
