Curbar Storms
Double rainbow at Curbar Edge. I’d never experienced rain like on this day before, despite being covered in waterproofs from head to toe I was still absolutely drenched in a matter of seconds! With 60mph gusts of wind and horizontal pouring rain I’m actually quite pleased I managed to get a reasonably sharp image. No wonder I was the only one (foolish enough) to visit that evening!
The Pinnacle Stone – About Curbar Edge:
Curbar Edge is a gritstone escarpment above the picturesque Curbar Village in the Dark Peak area of the Derbyshire Peak District. The close proximity of the edge to the cities of Sheffield and Chesterfield, easy going and well maintained footpath and easy car access make Curbar one of the most popular walking and climbing hotspots in the Peak District National Park.
