Curbar Edge – The Pinnacle Stone
This rock made a great foreground for the pinnacle stone. I especially liked the way the stormy golden hour light illuminated the long grass. After my hike up Win Hill, my legs were feeling a little worse for wear, so with another changeable day forecast for the day after I decided to head to the much more easily accessible Curbar Edge. I’ve wanted to create a composition of The Pinnacle Stone for a long time now, so the inclement weather provided a great opportunity. Thankfully the forecast didn’t let me down and I was rewarded with stunning dark clouds and stormy light. Perfect!
About Curbar Edge:
Curbar Edge is a gritstone escarpment above the picturesque Curbar Village in the Dark Peak area of the Derbyshire Peak District. The close proximity of the edge to the cities of Sheffield and Chesterfield, easy going and well maintained footpath and easy car access make Curbar one of the most popular walking and climbing hotspots in the Peak District National Park.
