About the Pond Turtle:
The black pond turtle (Geoclemys hamiltonii ) is an endangered species of freshwater turtle endemic to Southern Asia. They are also known as spotted pond turtles or Indian spotted turtles. Spotted pond turtles are found in only large, deep rivers in northern India, southern Pakistan and Bangladesh. They are often seen basking on partially submerged logs and rocks. They are Omnivorous and typically feed on fish, invertebrates and floating aquatic plants.
