About the Bengal Fox:

The Bengal fox (Vulpes bengalensis), also known as the Indian fox, is a small species of fox endemic to the Indian subcontinent.

Indian foxes inhabit a range of habitats including agricultural areas, deserts, bush and grassland. They tend to avoid dense forests, steep terrain, tall grasslands and true deserts.

Bengal foxes are predominantly crepuscular and nocturnal in nature; although they may sometimes become active during cool periods of daytime, particularly when they have pups. They typically spend the hottest parts of the day sheltering under vegetation or in dens.

Bengal foxes are opportunistic omnivores. Their diet consists of small mammals, birds and their eggs, reptiles, insects and fruits.
