During the summertime around 150,000 breeding pairs of seabirds flock to the Farne Islands to nest. With such huge numbers crammed onto these tiny islands they are undoubtedly one of the best places in the UK to get close to sea birds.
Artic Tern in Flight: About Arctic Terns:
Arctic Terns are long distance passage migrants to our shores, travelling from the Arctic in May to breed on islands such as the Farne Islands in Northumberland, before heading back to the arctic in late July and August.
