Best of British Wildlife

Our tiny island nation is home to some of Europe’s most iconic species. The mild and damp climate has allowed British wildlife to thrive thanks to the lack of extreme weather and food supplies year-round. 

With approximately 31,000km of coastline, Britain offers ideal feeding and nesting grounds for millions of seabirds. The UK is also home to 75% of the world’s moorland habitats, ideal habitat for red grouse and mountain hares. 

The increasing human population and our resulting space requirements has taken its toll on our native wildlife. Many species are now under serious threat of  localised extinction if action is not taken to protect them.
