Birds

Asia is home to an incredible variety of bright and beautiful birdlife. The diverse range of habitats found on the continent have lead to beautiful and bizarre evolutionary adaptations. Particularly distinctive birds include the golden pheasant which has a stunning eye-catching array of colours and patterns in order to stand out in the dull dark vegetation.

Asia is also home to many critically endangered species in dire need of our protection. Less than 200 Indian Bustards survive worldwide, under critical threat from poaching and habitat loss. The Philippines eagle, endemic to the Philippines is one of the worlds largest and most impressive birds of prey. Sadly it has been under threat for the last 40 years and total population is now estimated at under 200.
