About the Little Egret:

The Little Egret (Egretta garzetta) is a is a small heron with all white plumage, long black legs with yellow feet and a slender black bill. Egrets are typically found in wetland habitats where they hunt in the shallow water and on land for a variety of small creatures. They breed in colonies, often mixed with other species of water birds. The nest platform is constructed using sticks in a tree, bush or in the reed bed. During the breeding season, adult birds have two long nape plumes and gauzy plumes on the back and breast. Little Egrets are mostly silent but make various croaking and bubbling calls at their breeding colonies and produce a harsh alarm call when disturbed.
