About the Pied Kingfisher:
The pied kingfisher (Ceryle rudis) is distinctive black and white species of kingfisher widely distributed across Africa and Asia. Pied kingfishers are well known for their habit of hovering high over lakes and rivers before diving for fish. Unlike most kingfishers which are solitary by nature they are often found in pairs or even small family groups.
