Inside the stunning City Palace Jaipur lies an inner courtyard called Pritam Niwas Chowk, which translates to “courtyard of the beloved”. Here there are four unique and beautifully decorated doorways known as (Ridhi Sidhi Pol), which represent the four seasons and different Hindu gods. The courtyard was used extensively for celebrations and performances where the royal ladies would watch the show from the jharokhas above the gates.  

The Green gate, representing Spring, is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. The Lotus Gate, dedicated to Shiva and Parvati, represents the summer season.The Peacock gate is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and represents autumn. The Rose Gate represents winter and is dedicated to the goddess Devi.
