Lawrence Field in Bloom

The normally barren moorlands of the Peak District come alive in summer with swathes of purple flowering heather and vibrant moorland grasses. I couldn’t resist capturing this scene as the bright sunlight shone through the branches of this lone tree.

About Lawrence Field

Lawrence field is small area of moorland, nestled between the popular areas of Padley Gorge, Burbage Edge, Owler Tor and Surprise View. The area features several photogenic lone trees and is a popular walking route. The area is also significant for it’s archaeological features, being home to a stone circle and some Medieval field system and long houses.

You can find more about the area here.
