Baby Pheasant – Peak District Wildlife Photography
Baby Pheasant on a wall in the Peak District National park. Whilst out photographing brown hares, I spotted a family of pheasants crossing the country lane. Luckily this little one stopped on top the wall just long enough for me to get a couple of images.
Pheasants are one of Britain’s most colourful birds. They have become so widespread that they are now our most common gamebird leading many to believe they are native to the UK, but were in fact introduced from Asia around the time of the Romans.
