Wyming Brook Fern
Wyming Brook Fern – Highly Commended in ‘Wild Woods’ British Wildlife Photography Awards 2016.
This colourful fern was positioned perfectly for some foreground interest at Wyming Brook in the Peak District National Park. I even had the place completely to myself for the afternoon, an extremely rare pleasure!
About Wyming Brook:
Wyming Brook features a long brook that flows down the valley from the Redmires reservoirs down to the Rivelin Dams. The site was once reserved exclusively for nobility, as it was part of the hunting and hawking grounds of Rivelin Chase. The Brook is part of the Eastern Moors Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), and along with stunning scenery there is an abundance of wildlife at the reserve.
