The Kissing Stones
The Kissing Stones on Bleaklow, one of only two mountains in the Peak District National Park, the other being nearby Kinder Scout. The Kissing Stones, also known as the Wain Stones, are found near Bleaklow Head and get their name because they look like two people kissing from certain angles. Bleaklow has a very unforgiving landscape with most of the area consisting of high level gritstone moorland, split by deep peat groughs that run like veins through the landscape. Much of Bleaklow is almost 610m (2,000 ft) above sea level making it the second highest point in the East Midlands.
